Last week’s gig at the Oval took an age to get to and an age to get from, but was enjoyable nonetheless. There were visitors from Germany and Lithuania as well as locals. Chris Youlden was soon busy signing Savoy Brown records, showing the interest is still there. The gig was well received once again so thanks again to Graeme the manager. An added thanks too for the gift of a takeaway bottle of wine. If only all gigs were as friendly.
Talking of gigs, the usual monthly gig at the Inn on the Green was moved back a week to coincide with someone’s party. This gig will now be permanently moved to the third Sunday of each month, rather than the second. That doesn’t mean that there will always be someone’s party so don’t get too anticipatory. The jam there each Wednesday seems to be attracting more people, though whether this is because it’s becoming more rock oriented, is not necessarily so. I shall continue to add my contribution to the blues side of things.
This Friday’s gig at the new venue, the Windsor Castle in Harrow Road, will be moved next month to a Saturday, the 28th March and the time has been changed too. It will be from 10 p.m. until midnight. I popped in there last night and was pleased to see that they were advertising the gig. Oh I had a drink too, before continuing to the Skiddaw where I was almost reprimanded by Jason my web designer for not writing anything lately. This is my response. l shall try not to leave it so long next time. Now I’m off to the jam. I’m becoming a creature of habit. Well as long as it’s on okay habit…
