Me and my friend Sue used to bunk off from our posh school in South Croydon in 1960 or thereabouts when we must have been 15. In the afternoons, the beautiful, sexy Italian waiters from The Savoy Hotel were off duty until the evening and, as you say, Pepsi Cola and a good juke box, some sweaty, shadowy jiving and, best of all, what would now be called snogging but then was known as heavy petting were never-to-be-bettered experiences in teen love.
